Team Building: Indoor Skydiving in Manchester! – March 2018

by Vivien, on the 27th March 2018

After a very busy beginning of the year (blame the French for their innovation competitions), the team needed a break.

Time for our second team building!

An inspired suggestion from Catherine (who just finished and could not join us) convinced us to try indoor skydiving. There’s a surprisingly large number of facilities spread all around the world. We went to iFly Manchester; and it’s essentially a vertical wind tunnel, with winds blowing at about 100mph.

Our introduction was 2x 2 min flights. It does seem short but it is quite an exercise, especially for first-timers like us. Believe it or not, you can feel it the next morning. Except for Irène, who is apparently immune to muscle pain.

It’s quite delicate to navigate as a single false move can throw you in unexpected directions, as Thierry can testify (I still do not understand how you ended up on your back). Overall, great fun! Looking forward to the next one.
