Our new intern, Quentin, arrived on Tuesday; he will stay with us for four months.
Quentin is studying in Strasbourg in the East of France, but he grew up in Brittany, which is in the West. He was a pupil of the Lycée Chateaubriand in Rennes, then left for Alsace to study at the ECPM. He is the president of the school’s sporting association.
Can you tell us a few things about yourself?
My name is Quentin, I’m 22 years old and come from Strasbourg, in France. This internship in Driad is part of my formation in chemical engineering in the French school ECPM Strasbourg. I consider myself as open-minded, enterprising and very sociable. I like to travel and discover the world from different perspectives.
What are your interests in innovation and technology?
In innovation and technology, I like both the contents and the forms they take.
I’m mainly interested in innovation for the environment, biotechnologies, and everything that can improve our perspectives. But I’m curious – and admirative – of all innovations and the creation of new technologies, as the achievements of hours of work on an idea.
I am also interested in the structuration of innovation. In my opinion, true innovation mainly comes from small structures such as startups; larger companies don’t have the necessary flexibility and struggle to foster the creative environment allowing to innovate.
What’s your speciality?
I’m specialized in plastic synthesis and production. I’m also competent in analytical, material, and organic chemistry and in the industrial process. I truly believe that innovation in the plastic branch is vital for our future and I want to be part of this movement. I have been the president of the sportive association of my school for a year and developed some skills in project management.
Anything you want to add?
I see myself as an adventurer and I’m very excited to live this new adventure in Leeds with Driad.
